Volker Schimmelpfennig
Son of a naval musician. Grew up in Franconia. Comes from a poor background. He starts out studying composition and becomes the Young Prophet of the New Music. The film focuses on his love affair with Clarissa, whom he marries when she is pregnant with his child, and on the insoluble rivalries between men and women. Volker does not discover his own direction in life until later.
Born July 19, 1960 in Nuremberg, he also grew up there. Professional pianist and composer. Currently lecturer at the Musikhochschule in Würzburg. "DIE ZWEITE HEIMAT" provided his first contact with the film medium.
